Roger and Jenny Lynch have built one of Gisborne's most trusted harvest operations over two decades — one orchard, one handshake, one season at a time.
Roger Lynch started picking lemons on a mate's property one summer and never really left. Jenny joined the operation a few years later, bringing the organisational backbone that turned a seasonal side-hustle into a contracting business that now touches over a hundred orchards across the Gisborne region.
What the Lynches do isn't just labour hire. They show up before the season starts — walking the rows, talking to growers, mapping the blocks — so that when harvest day arrives, there are no surprises. No understaffed mornings, no fruit left on the tree, no headaches for the grower.
Over twenty years in, they still pick up the phone. That's rarer than it sounds in this industry, and it's why orchardists keep calling them back.
What we do
A harvest isn't just picking. It's timing, logistics, people management and quality control — all at once. We handle it so you don't have to.
We walk your blocks ahead of time, assess maturity schedules and volume expectations so the harvest plan is built on reality, not guesswork.
We recruit and vet pickers — including working holiday visa holders — and match them to your orchard's size, variety, and timing requirements.
Roger or Jenny — or a trusted team lead — is on the ground every harvest day. Pace, quality and communication are always under control.
The work doesn't stop when the last bin leaves. We coordinate pruning, canopy management and maintenance crews through the off-season.
Bin tracking, pack house liaison, cool store coordination — we support the chain from tree to door wherever we can add value.
We're not a one-season contractor. Most growers have worked with us for many years. That continuity is worth something — to both sides.
